Questions, answered
The honest version, not the brochure version. Anything else, bookings@tripkernow.co.uk.
How does the price work?
One fixed price per car, not per person, shown before you book. It covers all driving, all waiting while you explore, fuel and the driver. The price is built from real road miles and the time you choose to spend at each stop, with a minimum for half and full days and a cap so a big day never runs away with itself.
Is that per person?
No, per car. Up to 8 passengers travel for the same price, so a full car often costs less per head than a bus tour.
What happens after I send my day?
During our launch season, nothing is charged online. A real person checks your date with the driver and replies by email, usually within a few hours, with confirmation and a secure payment link. Your plan is saved exactly as you built it.
Can you pick us up from a cruise ship?
Yes. We collect from the cruise terminals at Falmouth and Fowey. Tell us your all-aboard time when you book and we plan the day backwards from it, with margin, so you are at the gangway with time to spare. Our timings are deliberately honest about Cornish roads.
Where else do you pick up?
Penzance, St Ives, Falmouth, Truro and Fowey as standard, or type any Cornish address, house name or postcode into the builder and we price the day from your actual front door.
Can we do a vineyard day?
Gladly, and it is the best argument for a private driver: everyone tastes, nobody drives. Camel Valley, Trevibban Mill and Polgoon are all bookable stops, and the Cornish Wine Country day strings them together with a Padstow lunch. Tastings and tours are paid at the vineyard; booking ahead is wise in summer.
Are entrance fees included?
No. The price covers the car, the driver, and the waiting. Tickets for places like the Eden Project, St Michael's Mount or vineyard tastings are yours to pay on the day, which keeps the trip price honest for people who only want the coast.
Can we change the plan on the day?
Within reason, yes. Stay longer where you are happy, skip a stop, swap the order. Your driver knows the roads and will keep you straight on what still fits. Timings shown when you book are honest estimates, not a timetable.
What about children and car seats?
Children are very welcome. Booster seats can be arranged if you ask when booking; for children under three, please bring your own infant seat and we will fit it. (Exact arrangements are confirmed with your driver.)
What if the weather turns?
Cornwall does weather, often four kinds before lunch. The day still runs; your driver will happily reorder stops around the sky, and a rainy Cornwall day has its own compensations: galleries, tin mines, pubs with fires.
What is your cancellation policy?
During the launch season nothing is paid until a person has confirmed your date, so changing or cancelling an enquiry costs nothing. Final cancellation terms are published in our terms page before any payment is taken.
How long can a day be?
Up to twelve hours door to door can be booked online. Longer than that is more than one driver's day, so ask us for a bespoke trip and we will plan it properly, perhaps over two days.
